What is the validity period of the Egypt visa?
The Egypt visa is valid for 90 days. Depending on the type of visa you have applied for, you may enter the country either once or multiple times with the same visa. Each stay in Egypt may last a maximum of 30 consecutive days. Both your arrival and departure dates must fall within the 90-day validity period. You should enter your expected date of arrival in the application form.
Visiting Egypt once or multiple times
When applying for an Egypt visa, you indicate on the form whether you want to use a single-entry visa (for one trip) or a multiple-entry visa (for an unlimited number of trips). Both types have a validity period of 90 days. Each stay in Egypt may last a maximum of 30 days, regardless of which type you choose. The only differences are the number of permitted entries and the cost of the Egypt visa.
Flexible travel period
After obtaining your Egypt visa, you can still adjust your travel plans and arrive or depart earlier or later than the dates you indicated on the application form. However, you must arrive and depart within the 90-day validity period.
Start of the validity period
You enter your expected date of arrival in Egypt in the application form. If this date is within the next month, the application is processed immediately. The validity period of the visa begins as soon as the application is approved. You may still change your final arrival and departure dates, as long as your entire stay falls within the visa’s validity period.
Applying more than a month in advance
If you want to use the online application procedure for the Egypt visa, you must submit your application at least 5 working days before departure. It is recommended, however, to apply several weeks in advance. Normally, approval takes about a week. To ensure your application is approved on time, it is advised to submit your application at least a month before departure.

Visa applications for Egypt are processed no earlier than 30 days before your expected arrival date in the country. If you have already booked your trip to Egypt and want to arrange your visa immediately, you can still submit your application months in advance. However, it will only be processed starting 30 days before departure. It is very rare for an application to be refused; this only occurs if the Egyptian authorities suspect that you pose a security threat to the country.
Need a visa with longer validity?
If you are planning to stay in Egypt for more than 30 consecutive days, or if you need a visa valid for longer than 90 days, you cannot use the e-visa. You will need to make an appointment at the Egyptian embassy in London. If you are already in Egypt and wish to stay longer than 30 days, report to the local police as soon as possible. The Egyptian authorities can grant residence permits for longer periods, though additional requirements apply, which the police can explain. It is best to arrange your travel authorisations before departure and, if necessary, apply for an Egypt visa with extended validity.
