The Egypt e-visa
The Egypt e-visa is the easiest visa to apply for when travelling to Egypt for tourism. You can only apply for the e-visa online, meaning you can submit your application from home without needing an appointment at the embassy or consulate. Furthermore, you won’t have to queue to obtain a VOA (visa on arrival) at the airport to ensure that your holiday starts completely stress-free.

What is an Egypt e-visa?
An Egypt e-visa is an electronic visa issued by the Egyptian immigration service. Once approved, travellers receive the e-visa by email as a PDF document. Because the application can be easily submitted from home, this type of visa is the simplest way to meet the Egyptian visa requirements.

Am I eligible for an Egypt e-visa?
Travellers holding a passport from the United kingdom, a country within the European Union or Switzerland can use the Egypt e-visa for tourist trips. Travellers with a British or Irish passport can therefore also apply for an Egypt e-visa. It does not matter whether travellers arrive in the country by plane, cruise ship, car, or bus. Besides holiday trips, the e-visa can also be used for visiting friends or family in Egypt.
The Egypt e-visa application process can be completed in no time:
- Fill in the online application form.
- Pay for the e-visa using credit card, PayPal, Google Pay or Apple Pay.
- Upload a photo or scan of your passport.
- Receive the Egypt e-visa by email.
- Print the visa and take it with you on your trip.
Urgent applications
The average processing time for an Egypt e-visa is 11 days. It is therefore recommended to submit your application as early as possible. If you need the visa urgently, you can select the "urgent delivery" option in the application form. This ensures that your application is processed urgently by eVisa-Egypt.co.uk. The average delivery time of an urgent delivery is 5 days.
Note: Even with an urgent application, delays can occur. The stated processing times are averages and cannot be guaranteed, as the Egyptian immigration service sometimes performs random checks. High volumes of applications or busy periods at the immigration office can also extend the processing time. During major holidays in Egypt (such as Eid al-Fitr), a large number of applications is usual. Keep this in mind when planning your stay. An additional fee of £17.50 applies for urgent deliveries.
Group applications
Each traveller requires their own e-visa (or other visa). This also applies to minor children. Fortunately, you do not need to submit a separate application for each traveller. You can easily submit a group application, allowing you to apply for multiple e-visas using a single form. After opening the application form, click the “Add traveller” button to include an additional traveller in your application. This will generate multiple new fields for the new traveller. In the application form on this website, you can add up to 10 travellers to one application. You only need to provide the contact and travel details for one traveller, saving you a lot of time.
