Egypt Visa Requirements

Requirements regarding travel to Egypt
The Egypt e-visa is intended solely for holidays and not for business purposes.
Travelling to Egypt for a holiday
You can only obtain your Egypt visa online if you are travelling to Egypt for tourism. Holiday trips to Egypt generally meet these requirements. However, you must observe the maximum stay and the validity period of the visa.
Visiting friends or family in Egypt
Visiting friends or family in Egypt is considered tourism and is therefore allowed with an e-visa. It is recommended to bring an invitation letter from the people you will be visiting. Make sure the contact details of all travellers and the hosts are included in the letter.
Working in Egypt
If you wish to work in Egypt, you cannot apply for your Egypt visa online. It does not matter whether you intend to work for an organisation based inside or outside Egypt. Business trips or study trips are also not permitted with an e-visa (including short training sessions or other types of meetings). If you are entering the country for purposes other than a holiday, you must make an appointment at the embassy and apply for a physical visa, which will be affixed to your passport by a consular officer.
Requirements for travellers
The following requirements apply to all travellers who wish to use the Egypt e-visa.
Eligible nationalities
You can only use the Egypt e-visa if you hold one of the following nationalities: Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Hong Kong, Ireland, Iceland, India, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Ukraine, Oman, Austria, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Uruguay, Vatican City, Venezuela, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, or Switzerland.
Travellers who have previously visited Egypt
The following additional Egypt visa requirements apply only if you have visited the country before. The application form will ask for the arrival date, departure date, and accommodation of your last trip to Egypt. You are required to provide this information. It is common for travellers to forget some details. Often, the travel dates can still be found in the passport that was used at the time. If the old passport is no longer available, you may provide an estimate. Make sure to at least enter the correct month. If you no longer remember the address of your accommodation, you can enter 'UNKNOWN'.
Travelling with minors
Minors must have their own passport and Egypt visa. You can apply for their visa at the same time as your own via the online form. If a child is not travelling with either parent, you are required to show a written, signed statement in which both parents give permission for the child to travel.
Passport requirements
It is important that your passport meets the specified requirements. The Egyptian immigration authorities require a passport that is valid at least six months from the date of arrival. You must travel with the same passport that was used for your visa application in order to use the e-visa. If your passport expires within six months of arrival, you must obtain a new passport and then apply for a completely new Egypt visa. Note: emergency passports, ID cards, foreigner documents, or residence permits cannot be used. Nor can you apply for an e-visa with a diplomatic or service passport.
